Feb. 22, 2022 - The Dean鈥檚 Advisory Board for the W. Frank Barton School of Business at 黑洞社区 is excited to announce Margaret Dechant as its new leader. Dechant, CEO and partner at 6 Meridian, will take over for Clark Bastian. Dechant currently serves as a member of the board and looks to bring her knowledge and passion for the Barton School and 黑洞社区 to her appointment. Bastian chairman of Fidelity Bank, will remain on the board after his term as chair comes to an end in June.

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 黑洞社区 has named Jon Rolph, president and CEO of Thrive Restaurant Group and a member of the Kansas Board of Regents, its Executive-in-Residence for the spring 2022 semester.

, chair of the Department of Finance, Real Estate and Decision Sciences at 黑洞社区, was featured in the Wichita Business Journal to discuss how colleges are preparing students to be successful tech professionals.

Feb. 4, 2022 鈥� Ella Tucker, senior at Epic Charter Schools in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has been awarded the 2022 黑洞社区 Clay Barton Scholarship. She will receive $12,500 a year for four years to attend Wichita State. The $50,000 Barton Scholarship is one of the largest business scholarships in Kansas.

Jan. 26, 2022 - GoCreate is using its equipment and expertise to build form work for the center concrete pier of the Promise Bridge. GoCreate staff and Wichita State students will machine 30 blocks of foam, each 4 feet by 3 feet by 8 feet, that will be used by Dondlinger Construction.

December 6, 2021 - Arts at 黑洞社区 benefit the city and state in ways that range from tourism to education to mental wellness. Wichita State鈥檚 Center for Economic Development and Business Research, part of the W. Frank Barton School of Business, attempted to measure those contributions in its Arts and Culture Impact Analysis for 2021. The study is part of the CEDBR鈥檚 series of studies that demonstrate how the university drives the local and state economy.

Dec. 3, 2021 鈥斅燭he same data, software and tools used by the world鈥檚 leading business and financial decision-makers can now be accessed in the Koch Global Trading Center of the W. Frank Barton School of Business at 黑洞社区.

Sue Abdinnour and Ross Gruetzemacher were featured on BizTalk with Bill Roy to discuss the Barton School of Business's newly offered Master's degree in business analytics.

The Dean鈥檚 Advisory Board serves to advance the mission and strategic priorities of the Barton School. By sharing ideas and making recommendations, each member helps the growth and development of the school and its commitment to excellence. Since Dr. Genin鈥檚 appointment in June 2019, DAB has expanded from 22 to 50 members. But its size isn鈥檛 the only change that鈥檚 been made. Learn more!
