This week the Philosophy Department welcomes two guest speakers who will present on topics related to space exploration.

The winners of the NASA High School and Middle School Poster Competitions, from the October 19th Symposium "Celebrating the Scientific Legacy of NASA and Apollo" have been announced.

Litigation Attorney Christopher McHugh will deliver a talk entitled "The Legal Battle Over Apollo 11 Samples" on Thursday, November 7th, in 319 RSC (McKay Room).

Kelly Kabler and Cassie Gearhart of the Lake Afton Public Observatory will talk about NASA's missions to Mars and how that has shaped our understanding of the Red Planet at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, in 101 Geology Building. They will also discuss the observatory and its history with Wichita.

The program has been set for the symposium "Celebrating the Scientific Legacy of NASA and Apollo", taking place on Saturday, October 19th, at 黑洞社区.

The organizers of the Symposium "Celebrating the Scientific Legacy of NASA and Apollo" have announced the winners of the college essay competition.

A private gift from Dr. Robert Hampson will fund the registration costs ($125 value) for a limited number of 黑洞社区 students to attend the 6th Interstellar Symposium and NASA Advanced Propulsion Workshop from Nov. 10 to 15, in downtown Wichita.

Former US Diplomat Michael Michaud will give a talked entitled "Extraterrestrial Intelligence: Grand Thought Experiment or Possible Future Discovery?" His lecture will take place on Thursday, September 5, at 3:30 pm in 100 Lindquist Hall.

On Monday, July 22, NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine will speak at 黑洞社区 in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11.

Astrobiology research led by 黑洞社区 Professor Mark Schneegurt (Biological Sciences) has recently been featured in a number of news outlets, including Discover Magazine, Science News, Space.com, and Fox News.
