Sharing Life Stories with Shockers: An Intergenerational Project

About Connecting Generations

Connecting Generations is a freshman first-year seminar designed to connect Wichita State students with older adult storytellers to collaborate in the preservation of the older adult's Life Story. Students and storytellers develop rich intergenerational relationships that build positive attitudes and respect between generations.

Meet the Instructors

Since fall 2024, the course has been team-taught by two Public Health Sciences (PHS) instructors. What's unique about this team? They too, are intergenerational! Learn more about Jacie Green and David Gear.

Unleash your potential

By 2034, older adults will outnumber children for the first time in U.S. history (U.S. Census Bureau, 2020). If you have an interest in working with the aging population, with a program in Aging Studies, you'll be ready for the evolving opportunities in the aging services industry.

Whether you are seeking a minor to complement your undergraduate degree, a certificate to advance your knowledge, the Administrator-in-Training (AIT) practicum to become a licensed nursing home administrator, or graduate education with the MA in Aging Studies program, PHS offers an educational pathway tailored to your goals.
