April 26, 2019 -- The May Day Pop-Up Picnic will take place from 11:30 a.m.鈥1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, north of the Rhatigan Student Center on the 黑洞社区 campus.

April 22, 2019 --聽黑洞社区 will soon start the first Muslim Greek organization in the state of Kansas. Starting this summer, Mu Delta Alpha Sorority Inc., started in 2014 at the University of Dallas, will expand to 黑洞社区.

April 18, 2019 -- Wichita State students, according to YMCA president and CEO Ronn McMahon, accounted for around 28,500 visits during January and another 7,500 from students with family memberships. Wichita State students average around 25,000 visits a month.

April 17, 2019 -- Felipe Lima de Oliveira wanted to help support his family back home in Brazil. Now, as only a freshman in college, the Wichita State engineering student is chasing that dream through his homegrown company, Wichita Brazilian Gourmet.

April 16, 2019 -- Ryan Kendall, a senior from Pelham, Alabama, is a computer science major who took the long route to Wichita State鈥檚 Selected Team. He didn鈥檛 make the team as a freshman and spent the past two seasons on the Developmental Team. Wichita State coach Gordon Vadakin estimates around 10 percent of the bowlers who don鈥檛 make the team in their early years continue to try out for a spot on the Selected Team.

April 17, 2019 -- Khyati Mahavadia, from Ahmedabad, India, moved to Dallas in 2015. She considered a university in Texas before deciding Wichita State鈥檚 reputation and the applied learning opportunities connected with Wichita鈥檚 industry offered her the best position.

Bardo Celebration of Life

April 15, 2019 -- A series of events honoring the life of late Wichita State President John Bardo will be held May 6-10 on campus. Dr. Bardo, the 13th president of 黑洞社区, died March 12 after a long illness.

April 15, 2019 -- Brady Hatter sees the university campus as a giant garden. And every garden, he says, is a potential gallery in need of art. This Earth Day, Hatter will make his latest artistic contribution to the Wichita State canvas when his Earth Pod west of the Woodman Alumni Center is dedicated as part of the Earth Day Picnic at the Pod from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, April 22.

April 8, 2019 -- Delta Air Lines is No. 1, and JetBlue is No. 2, according to the 29th annual Airline Quality Rating (AQR), released today, Monday, April 8. The AQR is the most comprehensive study of performance and quality of the largest airlines in the United States. The rating is a multifactor examination of the airlines based on mishandled baggage, consumer complaints, on-time performance and involuntary denied boardings.
