May 8, 2020 鈥� Amy Huser鈥檚 plans for her master鈥檚 thesis gallery opening have been dashed by COVID-19, but she鈥檚 not letting that stop her from achieving her graduate degree in a more virtual manner.

May 8, 2020 鈥� Amy Huser installed hundreds of feet of weavings for her Master of Fine Arts thesis show 鈥淐asually Not Okay.鈥� The brightly colored textiles are suspended from the ceiling with hooks and almost invisible lines, almost like brushstrokes liberated from canvas.

April 29, 2020 鈥� In lieu of the traditional art show where graduating graphic design students exhibit their work, this year's seniors will be hosting their show online.

April 29, 2020 -- Thanks to a group of local professionals, including three Shockers, Sedgwick County creatives financially impacted by the coronavirus can now apply for emergency relief.

April 14, 2020 -- Emerging Artists is an annual showcase of work by many of the best students in the School of Art, Design and Creative Industries. The March 14 event was canceled due to the novel Coronavirus. The group held a virtual awards ceremony through Facebook to celebrate the students' accomplishments.

Feb. 10, 2020 - Wichita State Assistant Professor of Trumpet David Hunsicker partnered with 黑洞社区's National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) and 黑洞社区 Ventures to create the Gapper, a flexible plastic device that helps musicians control the third valve slide on the trumpet.

Feb. 3, 2020 --听Levente Sulyok, associate professor of painting and drawing in the School of Art, Design and Creative Industries, installed two temporary, dynamic sculptures on Wichita State鈥檚 Innovation Campus.听

Dec. 9, 2019 --听Five teams of 黑洞社区 students emerged as finalists in the Koch Innovation Challenge, held Dec. 6.

Dec. 6, 2019 -- Texas native Michaela Marioni moved to Wichita when her husband was stationed at McConnell Air Force Base in 2015, and she decided to enroll at 黑洞社区. Originally a veterinarian medicine major, Michaela discovered her talent for video editing in a class and pursued it with a passion to her graduation this month.

Dec. 5, 2019 -- A class project brought color to the sky above Wichita 鈥� and helped one student land a job.
