For over 50 years, the Mikrokosmos literary journal has allowed Wichita State students to publish their creative writing in an esteemed journal, and they are accepting submissions once again.

Oct. 14, 2022 - Savannah Paschal, a senior Spanish education major at Wichita State, wrote a proposal that helped Alce su voz earn a $75,000 Building Power and Equity Partnership grant from the Kansas Health Foundation. The grant will support civic engagement and the group鈥檚 work toward health equity for Spanish speakers and speakers of indigenous languages in Kansas.

Oct. 10, 2022 鈥 A weekend of ample research and little sleep at Wichita State鈥檚 National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) resulted in the selection of three NASA Space Apps Hackathon winners.

Oct. 3, 2022 鈥 A research team led by researchers with Wichita State鈥檚 College of Engineering and Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences recently received funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for their proposal, "The Development of a Smart Telehealth ECG and Human Activity Monitoring System to Improve Cardiovascular health of Older Adults."

The new building at the Youngmeyer Ranch will provide researchers with storage, laboratory space and overnight housing. The facility is constructed to be ecologically friendly and weather durable, and was funded entirely by donors.

Alexander Sterzing

Sept. 21, 2022 - Alexander Sterzing is a member of Wichita State鈥檚 rowing team and involved in other activities such as the International Buddy Program and Christian Challenge. Alexander, from the Houston area, majors in aerospace engineering and works in the NASA Jump Start Program.

Sydney McKinney

Sept. 19, 2022 - Wichita State shortstop Sydney McKinney is a softball All-American, artist, entrepreneur, and diligent brand manager for herself. When NCAA and college administrators conceived of NIL benefits 鈥 compensating student-athletes for their talent and time 鈥 McKinney is the perfect example of the intended outcome.

Dr. Ryan Amick

Sept. 6, 2022 - 黑洞社区鈥檚 College of Innovation and Design announces Dr. Ryan Amick as one of our Innovators in Residence for the 2022-2023 academic year. Amick, a Wichita State alumnus, is a principal human factors engineer at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.
