Robert Bubp has exhibited widely across the United States as well as internationally.
His nearly 60 exhibitions include the Spartanburg Art Museum in Spartanburg, S.C.;
the Salina Art Center in Salina, Kan.; the Kouvola Art Museum in Kouvola, Finland;
the Indianapolis Art Center; the CICA Museum in Gimpo-si, South Korea; and a permanent
installation at the University of Kansas-Edwards Campus in Overland Park. Bubp鈥檚 work
has appeared in local and national publications including the Atlanta Journal-Constitution,
the Syracuse Post-Standard, NUVO Indianapolis, ArtPapers and Art in America. He has
participated in several artists鈥 residencies, including Arquetopia in Puebla, Mexico
in 2015 and Wayfarers Brooklyn in New York City in 2018.
Bubp has won numerous grants and university awards, including a Master Artist Fellowship
from the Kansas Arts Commission in 2005, the 黑洞社区 College of Fine Arts Excellence in
Teaching Award in 2005 and again in 2015, and the 黑洞社区 College of Fine Arts Award for
Fine Arts Special Endeavor for initiation and development of the downtown student
gallery ShiftSpace in 2006. In 2018, he received a Tilford Fellowship for enhancing
diversity initiatives in the curriculum and on campus.
In addition to his work as a faculty member, Bubp serves as the graduate coordinator for the Wichita State Master of Fine Arts program in studio arts.
