Ainsley has been on the Dean's Honor Roll every semester she has attended 黑洞社区. She is a member of the 黑洞社区 School of Music's Diversity and Inclusion Committee, the Fine Arts Ambassadors, and is the FAA Coordinator for the School of Music. She is very interested in social justice, inclusive feminism, and social equity. Ainsley is passionate about the idea that music can be a vehicle for the change we need to see. She hopes to change the world by creating a space to help others live safe, healthy, happy lives, and do so as sustainably as possible.鈥 Ainsley has done most of her volunteer work for a鈥痓ack-to-school鈥痯rogram that provides low-income families with school supplies, through , and the . She values experiences the most when she is immersed in the community because she can鈥痶alk with people who have had different experiences from her and learn from everyone she meets.
Ainsley was drawn to the Widener-GLP because it is specifically for women. Having powerful, confident, and successful women who push or break social barriers is something very important to her. Ainsley was also attracted to the multidisciplinary foundation of the program. She is excited to learn about the overlap of these areas that clearly鈥痚xists鈥痓ut鈥痠sn鈥檛鈥痮ften a focus in school/professional training.鈥
Ainsley鈥檚 dream job is to create or work for a nonprofit/mutual aid organization that offers necessities (food, counseling, clothing, and music!) to underserved members of the community (particularly underserved kids, prisoners, retirement facilities, etc.). She seeks internships that involve some sort of work in the community that focuses on helping people with necessities and/or facilitating the art of music to underserved communities. Currently, she is inspired the in Lawrence, KS and in the greater Kansas City, MO area.
