McKinley Hall

Building Info

McKinley Hall was originally constructed in 1928 as Science Hall to house the science departments for the university. In 1964, the Board of Regents unanimously adopted a resolution to change the name to Lloyd McKinley Science Hall, after Lloyd McKinley, who served as chemistry department chair from 1927-1960. Additions to the north and south ends of the building were completed in 1966 and 1968. McKinley Hall was renovated in 2000 and rededicated in September 2001. The building, home to 黑洞社区's chemistry department, houses a 2,600-square-foot chemistry library, 13 classrooms, 15 research laboratories, three general chemistry and teaching labs, two organic chemistry labs, one biochemistry lab, an analytic/inorganic chemistry lab, a physical chemistry lab and an undergraduate instrumentation/teaching lab.
