Wichita State鈥檚 graduate certificate in systems engineering and management teaches students to apply systems concepts and techniques to the understanding, description, design and management of large-scale systems requiring the integration of information and human activity.

Curriculum

The curriculum focuses on the essential knowledge, analytical techniques, and contemporary issues in complex systems definition, design and decision making. Program prerequisite: Calculus II

To complete the certificate, you鈥檒l choose 12 credit hours from the following courses:

  • Engineering Management
  • Statistical Methods for Engineers
  • Analysis of Decision Processes
  • Systems Engineering and Analysis
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • Modeling and Analysis of Discrete Systems

Students teach entry-level coding to next generation

Computer science major Zane Storlie developed a three-unit curriculum teaching Scratch, an entry-level coding program, to elementary school students.

Zane taught Scratch to fellow students, and together they're doing their part to fill the coder pipeline in the Wichita area.
