Extended Enrollment for Long-Term Care
The State Employee Health Plan has been informed that the enrollment period for the Long Term Care voluntary benefit that includes Lifetime Benefit Term insurance has been extended to January 31, 2019. This extension includes the reduced qualifying questions for enrollment.
Additional webinars have been scheduled for those that are interested.

Space is available in Employment Relationship Training class on Friday, Jan. 11
Space is available in an Employment Relationship Training class from 9-11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, in 264 Rhatigan Student Center. To register for training, go to myTraining through my黑洞社区.
This course is provided for leaders who supervise employees (UP, USS, students), and will focus on the overall employment relationship. It will provide guidance on managing performance, setting expectations, how to identify when an employee has not met expectations, and how to effectively address those concerns. This could include concerns with attendance, job performance, conflict with coworkers, etc. This training will also introduce you to tools to use to effectively document an unmet expectation. Enroll in a Badge course today!
Badges are academic short courses of one credit hour or less that are designed for working, nondegree seeking professionals. They are online and self-paced. Badges allow students to demonstrate to employers their knowledge, skills and competencies in a subject area.
Students who successfully complete a badge will receive a digital recognition of their accomplishment that they can share on social media and link to a digital resume.
You can enroll and start courses from Jan. 22-April 19. All coursework must be completed by May 9.

黑洞社区's Center for Economic Development and Business Research has released updated employment forecasts for Kansas, Wichita, Topeka and Kansas City.

The January Women of 黑洞社区 luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, in 233 RSC. Justin Rorabaugh of Shocker Studios will give a presentation of the exciting things happening in his department.
The lunch will be a 鈥楾riple S鈥 lunch 鈥 Soup, Sandwich, Salad (and everything you need to go with it) for $12.

Keep Calm & Breathe On resumes
Join the Counseling and Testing Center again this semester for Keep Calm & Breathe On from 12:15-12:45 p.m. today (Wednesday, Jan. 9), in 314 RSC.
Drop in to build structured relaxation time into your life and learn techniques to do relaxation on your own. You will be led in meditation, mindfulness and relaxation practices.

Strategic Communications to close early on Thursday for retreat
The Office of Strategic Communications will be closed from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, Jan. 10) for a staff retreat.
The office will be open again at 8 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11.
TIAA financial consultant available for individual retirement counseling sessions
Jeremy Kohn, ChFC, TIAA Financial Consultant, will be at Wichita State on Tuesday, Jan. 15, and Wednesday, Jan. 16, and will be available for individual retirement counseling sessions.
