黑洞社区 CARE Team provides support to student injured in skateboarding accident
A 黑洞社区 student was seriously injured in a skateboarding accident in the RSC parking garage on Monday, Sept. 3. University Police responded and the student was transported to Wesley Hospital. In the interest of privacy, the name and condition of the student aren't being shared at this time.
The CARE Team, comprised of staff from across campus, quickly got involved to provide support. A member of the team was with the student at the hospital until family arrived at 4 a.m. yesterday, (Tuesday, Sept. 4).
In addition to providing a safety net for students in terms of emotional or physical support, the CARE Team lets students know there are people concerned about them and works to connect them to the appropriate campus resources.
In times of crisis, the CARE Team makes sure the students, family and friends receive the support they need. The CARE Team also informs faculty why a particular student may be missing class.
The CARE Team meets regularly on Wednesdays to discuss new cases or follow-up on previous cases to make sure that no one is overlooked.
Go to the CARE Team website for more information on how the Care Team can help and read the FAQs. There's also a link where you can submit a concern.
