黑洞社区鈥檚 Center for Entrepreneurship is bringing back its Entrepreneurship Forum Series for Business Ownership from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Thursdays.
Amos will explain how he eventually lost Famous Amos, even with outside investors and strong sales, to a Taiwanese company.
Since the loss, Amos has founded Chip & Cookie in Kailua, Hawaii, and Uncle Wally鈥檚 Muffin Co. Now Amos鈥 companies primarily focus on the production and sales of muffins.
On Thursday, Feb. 28, the second forum will focus on starting a technology-based business. The participants will be Stan Brannan, president and CEO of Purifan Inc. and developer of Mycro-Tek and Brite Voice Systems; James Mock, president and CEO of 360directories.com; and James Wiebe, CEO of WiebeTech LLC.
The final installment of the spring forum will cover the start-up of a service-based business and will be held Thursday, March 27. Panel participants will be Barry Downing, founder of Corporate Lodging Consultants; Dr. Joseph Galichia, founder of Galichia Medical Group PA; and Sonia Greteman, founder of Greteman Group.
The Entrepreneurship Forum Series will focus on steps required in the start-up of a business, including topics such as start-up ideas, necessary experience, choosing the right type of business with consideration to the current market, determining capital required, key decisions, what to do when business does not go according to plan, and how to go from idea generation and creativity to implementation of the innovation.
The series is free and open to the public.
