KCEE to conduct LifeSmarts state championship

 

The Kansas Council on Economic Education (KCEE) will conduct its annual LifeSmarts Varsity State Championship starting at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at the Best Western Motel at 53rd Street North and I-135 in Wichita.

After competing until about 9 p.m., the competition will begin again at 8:30 a.m. Monday, March 9, and conclude at around noon.

The competitors in the LifeSmarts Varsity State Championship are the top 12 high school teams that advanced from regional competitions held last month in Hays, Wichita and Lawrence.

The schools represented are the Barton County Area Schools, Chanute High School, Great Bend High School, Haven High School, Marion High School, Nickerson High School, Palco High School, Salina High School South (two teams), Sterling High School, Sunrise Christian Academy (Wichita) and Thomas More Prep-Marian (Hays).

The KCEE is a nonprofit organization with the mission of ensuring that youth in grades K-12 are literate in personal finance and economics.

The KCEE is affiliated with all of the six state universities in Kansas and is based in the W. Frank Barton School of Business at 黑洞社区.

LifeSmarts, which is known as 鈥渢he Ultimate Consumers Challenge,鈥 is provided nationally by the National Consumers League and is coordinated in Kansas by the KCEE.
