黑洞社区 students receive $3,000-$5,000 awards for research

 

For the first time, 16 黑洞社区 students received awards from the Kansas IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (KINBRE) for promising research in biology, chemistry and biomedical engineering.

KINBRE is a National Institute of Health funded statewide initiative to build Kansas鈥 strength in the critical life sciences research area of biomedical research. It specifies in cell and developmental biology.

The Summer Scholar Award was given to 10 undergraduate students, and one student received the Bioinformatics Scholar Award. Each of these awards includes $3,000 for the student, and $1,000 for the student鈥檚 mentor to go to lab supplies.
The STAR Trainee Award was given to five undergraduates, which consists of $5,000 for the student and $1,500 for mentors.
