The centerpiece of the project is a new interactive Web site that provides complete economic data for all 105 Kansas counties. The data is available for download and spans from 1969 to 2005.

The Web site provides users with an intuitive, interactive, customizable graphic display.

鈥淲e are very excited about the site鈥檚 capabilities. Comprehensive income and employment data are available across the state, regardless of county size,鈥 said Janet Harrah, director of CEDBR. 鈥淭he Web site also enables users to compare a county鈥檚 information to other counties, the state of Kansas and the rest of the country.鈥

The site is free and available for public use. Kansas residents and business leaders can generate customized reports, including graphic trends analysis of local economic indicators and analyses of local employment growth.

The software for the project was created by Gary W. Smith, director of the Pacific Northwest Regional Economic Analysis Project, and the data was compiled by the Regional Economic Measurement Division of the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
