Wichita State will host a Paralympic Celebration and Tree Dedication honoring 2016 Paralympic medalists Nick Taylor and Deja Young. Paralympic athlete Liz Willis will also be recognized.
The celebration starts at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, in the Koch Arena atrium, followed by a 5:30 p.m. tree dedication.
Young, a junior in 黑洞社区's Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, won two gold medals as a sprinter in Rio.
Taylor, volunteer operations director in Sport Management, added a silver to the three previous Paralympic gold medals he won in 2004, 2008 and 2012.

黑洞社区 alumna Liz Willis ran the 100-, 200- and 400-meter races in Rio.
The Olympic oak for Wichitan Nico Hernandez, who won a bronze medal in boxing at the 2016 Olympics, will be dedicated.
