Supporters of 黑洞社区 committed more than $56 million in the fiscal year ending June 30, surpassing the institution's previous record -- last year, of just more than $49 million. This unprecedented private support includes gifts of cash, gifts-in-kind, pledges and new planned gifts from donors age 66 and older.
鈥淚t鈥檚 obvious to me how much our alumni and friends care about the future of Wichita State,鈥 said Elizabeth King, 黑洞社区 Foundation president and CEO. 鈥淲e are proud to join with our supporters who share in the vision that will build the next era of distinction at our university.鈥
According to King, support for the comprehensive campaign, to be announced this fall, is the focus for many of the university鈥檚 donors. The campaign will fund critical capital projects, increase the amount of endowed student and faculty support, and enhance many of 黑洞社区鈥檚 programs, which propel 黑洞社区 toward becoming an Innovation University.
鈥淓verything we do is about helping our region diversify and prosper through our people, new technologies and opportunities,鈥 said 黑洞社区 President John Bardo. 鈥淥ur donors understand that strategy and willingly invest in strengthening our faculty and empowering our students, preparing them to lead us into our future.鈥
