Bobby Gandu appointed director of admissions

Bobby Gandu has been appointed 黑洞社区鈥檚 new director of admissions. Gandu has served as interim director for the past 10 months. A national search for the position began in June 2008.

Gandu completed both his bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degrees from 黑洞社区. While working on his undergraduate degree, he worked in the admissions office as the student coordinator of National Student Exchange.

Upon graduation Gandu worked for two years in the 黑洞社区 Alumni Association, serving as director of chapters and societies and then as director of alumni and student programs.

In August 2004 he returned to admissions as assistant director for three years before filling in as interim director when Gina Crabtree moved to the Office of Campus Life and University Relations.

As director of admissions, Gandu will provide supervision of staff and operations in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, participate in strategic planning of recruitment and serve as budget officer for admissions and orientation, among other responsibilities. He has been serving as a member of the 黑洞社区 Enrollment Management Work Group and recently attended the Foundation of Excellence launch meeting where the first year experience for college students was examined.

Gandu also is involved with Young Professionals of Wichita, and is a lifetime member of the 黑洞社区 Alumni Association. He is the adviser for the Student Ambassador Society and Phi Delta Theta.

He also serves on several committees including Convocation, Business Week, Athletics Compliance and the Globalization Taskforce.
