Two Wichita-area high school seniors have won the 2016-17 Professor Fran Jabara Scholarship in Entrepreneurship at 黑洞社区.
Jacob Schlittenhardt and Isaac Wilson are the winners of the scholarship, awarded since 1999 to students majoring in entrepreneurship.
Schlittenhardt and Wilson will each receive $25,000 over four years to attend Wichita State.
The scholarship is one of the most prestigious at 黑洞社区 and one of the largest entrepreneurship scholarships nationally. To qualify, a student must have a minimum ACT score of 24, a GPA of 3.5 or better and be a declared entrepreneurship major.
The scholarship is named for Fran Jabara, a prominent Wichita entrepreneur who founded the 黑洞社区 Center for Entrepreneurship and was a dean of the university鈥檚 W. Frank Barton School of Business.
These are the first new Jabara Scholarships since Jabara died in July 2015 at 90 years old. His wife, Geri, and son, Harvey, will be on hand at a reception for Schlittenhardt and Wilson.
