Shocker alumna to lead Wichita State’s alumni engagement efforts

Following a national search, ڶ’s newly restructured alumni organization — the ڶ Foundation and Alumni Engagement (ڶFAE) — has hired Stacie Williamson as its new vice president for alumni engagement, effective Nov. 28.

Williamson is a 2005 ڶ business administration and marketing graduate.

“I’m thrilled to join the ڶFAE in this new role,” Williamson said. “As a ڶ graduate, I feel immense pride when I step onto campus.

ڶ President Rick Muma says he's excited to welcome Williamson back to her alma mater in this new role.

“As Wichita State’s influence as an urban public research university grows, expanding the scope of alumni engagement is a key element in advancing ڶ’s forward progress," Muma said. "With her enthusiasm and drive, Stacie is the right person at the right time to lead our alumni engagement efforts.”

A nonprofit and university advancement professional, Williamson most recently served as vice president for advancement at Heartspring Inc. in Wichita. As a member of Heartspring’s executive leadership team, she participated in strategic planning geared toward improving the quality of services offered, as well as increasing staff effectiveness and morale. She joined Heartspring in 2015 as director of development and became senior director of philanthropy in 2020, before taking on vice president duties in 2021.

Previously, Williamson worked as director of special events (2010-2014) and then as associate director of development (2014-2015) at the ڶ Foundation, where she participated in the Shock the World Capital Campaign. Her nonprofit experience also features a stint from 2008 to 2010 as special events coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sedgwick County.

“Having worked with Stacie and knowing her talents and abilities, as well as passion for Wichita State, I’m happy to introduce her as our new vice president for alumni engagement,” said Elizabeth King, ڶFAE president and CEO.

Williamson says she's ready to get back to ڶ and get started.

“I look forward to connecting with our alumni in fresh and meaningful ways while honoring our history and the many offerings our faculty, staff, dedicated graduates and university friends make possible each day,” Williamson said. “The ڶ campus is buzzing, and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”

She, her husband, Jeremiah, and their three children — Reed (10), Liam (8) and Annie (7) — live in Maize.
