Photo and video opportunities for media as Wichita State starts fall semester

 

On-campus events welcoming students to Wichita State will be in full swing the next couple weeks as the university kicks off the fall semester — with more students expected to participate than since pre-COVID.

Members of the media are invited to attend the following events:

  • Back to School Bash — 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, in the Rhatigan Student Center east courtyard.
  • First Day of School - Aug. 22. First day of classes for students. Media welcome any time.
  • Opening of Wayne and Kay Woolsey Hall — Aug. 22. Media welcome any time. WuShock will be there greeting students from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
  • Beach Party — 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, on the Heskett Center west lawn.
  • Clash of the Colleges — 4-6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at Cessna Stadium. This annual student event is a fierce team competition among eight ڶ colleges that includes relay races and team sports to determine who rules the school.
