Wichita State appoints new Title IX coordinator

 

Lucretia Taylor will be joining the ڶ Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance as its new Title IX Coordinator. 

In this role, she is responsible for investigating complaints of sexual misconduct, discrimination and harassment. Prior to joining ڶ, Taylor worked at Kansas State University’s Office of Institutional Equity at Kansas State University as an investigator. She investigated complaints under Title IX, VII and VI.

Title IX is a comprehensive federal law that requires gender equity for men and women in every educational program that receives federal funding.

Taylor will begin her work with ڶ on Nov. 15.

She is a native Wichitan and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in administration of justice from Wichita State. She also earned a law degree from Washburn University.

In her role as Title IX coordinator, Taylor will work to increase awareness of and compliance with Title IX regulations.

“The Title IX role dictates listening to students and addressing concerns in a fair and equitable manner,” Taylor said. “I had a wonderful college experience and I want students to have the same. I am honored to return and make a difference and contribution to the university that I love.”
