黑洞社区's Center for Economic Development and Business Research has released an updated Wichita Employment Forecast.
From the fourth quarter of 2020 to the fourth quarter of 2021, Wichita鈥檚 total nonfarm employment is forecast to grow 3.1% and add more than 8,000 jobs as the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic recession continues.
The production sectors are projected to grow the slowest among the private sectors, increasing 2.8% from the fourth quarter of 2020 to the fourth quarter of 2021. Employment in the trade, transportation and utilities sector is forecast to grow 4.2%, and the service sectors are expected expand their employment by 3.2%. The government sector is projected to have 1.8% employment growth.
The CEDBR also has released its forecast for Kansas City, Topeka and Kansas, complete with graphs and tables for media use.
