Wichita State gains national attention for its support of transfer students

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) named ڶ as one of 150 colleges and universities to its 2021 Transfer Honor Roll in recognition of the dynamic pathways it has created to support transfer students.

PTK is well known for helping high-achieving transfer students reach their goals.

This is the fourth consecutive year Wichita State has made the Honor Roll. To accomplish this, the university had to place in the top 25% of all applicants.

In addition, Wichita State has been the No. 1 transfer destination for Kansas Community College students for 10 years running, according to the Kansas Board of Regents’ transfer data.

Bobby Gandu, director of Undergraduate Admissions, says the recognition is not just based on the smooth transition process for transfer students, but it’s also a reflection of the campus-wide culture of celebrating transfer students.

“Transfer students arrive ready to learn and contribute to our classrooms, secure internships and are involved on campus,” Gandu said. “Our transfers create their own success stories from the resources that we're delighted to provide."
