The Student Government Association is proud to offer over $80,000 worth of scholarships each year.

Notes About Applications
- The SGA/SLB Dreamer Scholarship is now open. Will close on August 2nd.
- The International Student Hardship Fund is now closed for 2023-2024.

- The 2024-2025 Academic Year Scholarships are now closed.
The SGA International Student Scholarship designed to provide scholarship assistance to the international students enrolled in the University who are continuing their education.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following criteria:
- Be a full-time undergraduate or graduate international student
- Have completed at least one semester of study at Wichita State
- Demonstrate leadership through on-campus involvement
- Preference is given to students with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
- May not be a previous recipient as award is limited to one academic year
This application is now closed.
The SGA Endowed Scholarship provides financial assistance to eligible students who are active either on-campus or active within the Wichita community.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following criteria:
- Be a full or part-time undergraduate student at 黑洞社区 having attended 黑洞社区 for a minimum of one (1) semester previous to applying for the scholarship
- Demonstrate on-campus and community involvement
- Preference is given to students with financial need
- May be renewed but the student must re-apply each year and maintain satisfactory academic progress

The SGA Summer Edowed Scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to full-time summer semester students to support summer school.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following criteria:
- Be a full or part-time undergraduate student at 黑洞社区 during summer
- Applicants must have completed twelve (12) hours at 黑洞社区 in one (1) of two (2) semesters prior to the summer scholarship award session
- Demonstrate on-campus and community involvement
- Preference is given to students with demonstrated financial need from their FAFSA and a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
- May be renewed but the student must re-apply each year and maintain satisfactory academic progress

. The Dreamer Scholarship is provided through the Student Government Association (SGA) and the Rho Beta Chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta (SLB) for DACA-affiliated or undocumented students planning to continue their education at 黑洞社区. Priority for this scholarship will be given to DACA or undocumented students. Awards are based on academic excellence, leadership in on-campus activities/organizations and financial need. The committee will award students scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,500.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following criteria:
- Be an incoming or current 黑洞社区 student
- Must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA at the University or a 3.0 GPA for incoming high-school graduates
- Must be an undocumented student and/or student involved with the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program
Application closes on August 2nd.
CLOSED UNTIL SUMMER 2024. This scholarship was designed to benefit those striving towards a degree with the classification of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Act. This scholarship is intended to help fill the gap of financial need for this demographic of students.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following criteria:
- Be a full or part-time undergraduate student at 黑洞社区 having completed a minimum of 6 credit hours at 黑洞社区 previous to applying for the scholarship
- Preference is given to students with financial need unmet by another gift aid
- May be renewed but the student must re-apply each year and maintain satisfactory academic progress
Scholarship Applicant Requirements:
- Complete and sign application form.
- Attach a typed one-page essay about your personal story and how this scholarship could impact your progress toward degree completion
- Attach a copy of current resume.
- Allow SGA to check grades and total credit hours
CLOSED UNTIL SUMMER 2024. The C.H.I. Scholarship, founded by the Courageous Chi Chapter of Lambda Pi Upsilon Sorority, Latinas Poderosas Unidas, Inc. and partnered with the Student Government Association (SGA), was created to help foster youth with limited resources to pursue a higher education and to support them throughout their collegiate career. The C.H.I acronym stands for those who exemplify courage, honor and independence by recognizing their strive to better themselves academically.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following criteria:
- Be an incoming or current 黑洞社区 student
- Must be a high school foster care youth graduate
- Have a minimum of 2.5 GPA at 黑洞社区 (or 3.0 incoming high-school graduates).
The Domestic Student Hardship Fund and the International Student Hardship Fund can only be awarded to a student ONE TIME per fiscal year. The funds are for a ONE TIME EMERGENCY USE ONLY. They are not allowed to be used to pay tuition.
This fund is intended only as a short-term financial solution for qualifying domestic students experiencing extreme financial difficulties. Funding for this program is provided by the Student Government Association (SGA). Students may only receive this grant ONCE per fiscal year and the grant cannot exceed $1000.
Only students in a degree-seeking program are eligible.
These funds cannot be used as the down payment required to establish a payment plan with Financial Operations for past due balances. Additonally, these funds CANNOT be used to cover any costs of Tuition or Fees.
Instructions:
- Write a statement, in 500 words or less, that explains your financial hardship including the amount you are requesting and where those funds will be applied.
- Attach any supporting documentation.
- Prepare a detailed report of your income and expenses during the past six (6) months AND a detailed estimate of income and expenses for the upcoming six (6) months. Please keep this to one page in length.
- Return all documents to the Office of the Student Government Association, RSC 219, or email to sga@wichita.edu for committee review
This application will be open starting Monday, August 19th until all funds have been dispersed. Please email sga@wichita.edu for the packet.
